Help Us Fundraise for Coach Almasy!
Benjamin Almasy works for the GFABSA as the Director and Supervisor of the City Baseball League and the Jack Wright 40 and over Men's League. He is also a beloved high school baseball coach with stops at Flint Hamady, Flint Southwestern, Mt. Morris, and New Lothrop High Schools. Additionally, he was the varsity football coach at both Mt. Morris and Genesee high schools. He HOPES to be spending next spring and summer coaching a highly competitive 11u baseball team that would benefit from Coach Ben's wisdom and coaching ability, an opportunity so many others have had the opportunity to have. |
Over the last 18 months Ben experienced health issues that doctors could not seem to identify. Eventually, doctors were able to diagnose him with a liver disease called Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH). Due to the effects of the liver disease Ben is in need of a Liver transplant which will hopefully take place in mid-December. He was very fortunate to find an organ donor willing to help him move on from this disease. The donor happens to be the Mother of a former baseball player that Ben coached for many years.
All funds raised at the benefit dinner will go toward medical costs associated with operation along with any living expenses that he may need help with while he is recovering from the operation. Any contributions you are able to make will go directly toward helping our beloved friend, coach, supervisor, amongst so many other titles Ben represents.
PLANNING TO ATTEND THE DINNER?
All you need to do is show up between the hours of 5:30-8:30pm on December 8th. Cost to attend the dinner is $20 per person or $50 per family. Dinner will be an Italian style buffet with mostaccioli, salad, breadsticks, desserts, and beverages (alcoholic beverages are NOT ALLOWED at this event). We will have raffles and a silent auction at the event in order raise additional funds. The dinner will take place at THE HUB DMC which is the old Knights of Columbus Hall in Davison, see address below.
